The Mission
NYCFTC seeks to increase fair trade education and nurture fair trade business in NYC. We partner with ethically-aligned NGO’s and citizens on NYC events to engage the public in fair trade dialogue. We offer social media advertising support, sales events and conscious-community networking to ethical and fair trade businesses through our Business Membership program.
Hello, I represent a tribe in the Philippines that weaves a fabric called T’nalak. I wanted to learn more about how to promote our fair trade (albeit not yet certified) fabric.
It is a heavy-weight textile which makes for amazing handbags, shoes and home decor. It is similar to hemp and its intricate designs (attached) are hallmarks of its native roots.
Below is a documentary about the T’nalak from The Fowler Museum of UCLA

I have also blogged about T’nalak on http://www.nschauder.blogspot.com
I would be happy to send swatches to possible buyers and will be in NY on Friday-Saturday (Feb 10-11)
