Hi,
My name is Marie Elvshammar and I’m the co-owner of Eye See Media. Eye See Media share personal stories and inform the Global Citizen on issues of social justice, environment, triumph and culture, but we don’t stop stop there. In order to empower the reader with a choice, we feature ways to be involved, links to businesses doing good things and options helping everyone to have the opportunity to live well and inspire change. We are a quarterly print magazine that is distributed in 9 countries, and we also have a website were we update stories regularly. http://www.eyeseeonline.com
We have an upcoming magazine focused on FOOD/ FAIRTRADE/ SUSTAINABLE LIVING etc..going to print in the next month with some ad space available. We would like to offer your business either a 1/2 page or full page ad in order to give our readers a resource for more information, and promote shared-interest.
You can find out more about us at http://www.eyeseemediakit.com or visit our public website at http://www.eyeseeonline.com
Also if you don’t have a budget we can make a trade.
Please contact me with any interest or questions!
Thank you for sharing information on today’s pressing world issues,
Kind Regards, Marie

I am looking for Fair Trade retailers to offer the opportunity to participate in the Third Annual Earth Day Fair at P.S. 101. The school is located in the exclusive neighborhood of Forest Hills Gardens, and the event is open, with no admission fee, to people in both the school community and the surrounding Forest Hills community. In past years we have had several hundred attendees.
The goal of this event is to promote environmental consciousness while allowing you to expand your customer base. Past years have been wildly successful for everyone involved. We are proud to feature an eco-market where vendors sell all kinds of environmentally friendly products, a plant sale so people can green their homes, and interactive presentations. Many environmental organizations have participated and have shared their unique perspectives on current issues facing the environment. Other popular attractions include a book exchange, green crafts, a bouncy tent for the kids, a movie screening, and delicious, healthy food.
Earth Day will be celebrated at P.S. 101 on April 28th, 2012, from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. The all-inclusive fee for eligible vendors remains only $40. Please let me know if you know someone would like to be considered for participation as soon as possible, as space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sincerely,
Laurie Kaufman
Chair
I work as a jewelry making (metal work) instructor and I have been doing a substantial amount of research to find fair trade precious metals and gems. I introduced my students to the idea that there are “conflict free” sources in terms of the materials that they can use to learn their chosen craft; (I’m aware of the complexity of the term “conflict free” when referred to metals and gems). However, I feel it is my moral obligation to acknowledge and give my students the ability to question the sources of the materials they buy.
I found a few sources but most of them require a tax ID and/or other credentials and do not sell on line and apparently they have no retailers in NYC.
Do any of you have any information about this?
I would greatly appreciate any information on this subject.
Thanks
